Jeanine Hovius studied writing for performance at the Academy of Arts in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Since then she has worked as a scriptwriter, director, projectmanager, fundraiser and dramateacher on different theatre projects, mostly with children, teenagers and students in Amsterdam.
Many of her productions were composed with scenes written under her guidance by the young actors themselves. In her own writing she likes to find ways to bring pop culture to the theatre and finds inspiration in action movies, fashion brands and urban music.
She loves to see what interesting stories and characters appear when people unlock their creativity and start writing.
